...born in the eighties

My little brother gave me the coolest Christmas present this year. He managed to find-and I still have no idea how-a copy of Vogue from the month and year I was born. It's been hilarious flicking through it and looking at all the old articles and adverts. Here are some of my faves--

I remember this advert and the perfume. My mum had it, and when she had finished it she let me keep the bottle.

I love this picture-it makes me long for hot summer days.

Certainly my most fun Christmas present this year. Now I'm off to listen to some Soft Cell and drink a glass of Vermouth and lemon.

Wombling in Wareham

My sister has been down to stay for the weekend and we have had a busy weekend of wombling, drinking tea and eating cake. Yesterday I was desperate to start the day with a cup of tea and cake at  The Purbeck Larder , and then go wombling in Wareham. I knew it would be a rainy day today so I was determined to get out and about even though it was a bit grey!

I love these little french markers used in a fair ground - What could I use them for?

These are my Wareham Womble finds;

1. Disney Parade box set of Disney Magic - Look below for inside illustrations 

2. The softest pair of baby gap new born trousers! (sure they will find a good home) 

3. A Nordic casserole dish, my mum has one of these and I love it! 

4. Hand knitted little boys jumper -  50p (what a bargain!!)

5. A little enamel milk jug for coffee

All this for under a £10 - Wareham is now on my top Chazzer list!

We also enjoyed looking around this lovely shop called - Re-loved, which was full to the brim of house hold vintage goodies. 

I should have got this lamp shade! Oh to have my own home....

We couldn't eat cake and shop all day! So we had a very quick stroll in the idyllic and serene RSPB nature reserve at Arne.

Illustrations inside the Disney books - I might have to get some of these blown up into prints for the home!

...wearing vintage clothes

So, it's the final day of our 'wear second hand clothes for a week' challenge. It has been fun! I think we may do more clothes-based posts again. What do you think?

Anyway-here's a little word from Gem about her special jumper;

This is by far my favourite woolly jumper womble find of this year. I set eyes on this amazing number lying abandoned on the sale floor of Urban Outfitters! I darted on it like a leopard and have not really taken it off since. It is from the second hand urban renewal range, I wonder who loved it before me? I am over the moon that they decided they didn't want it anymore!

...and this is what I wore to playgroup today! (Sorry-pics are a bit blurry)

The skirt is from Clobber, and the shoes are a recent charity shop find. However, I do think they are a little bit big, so will probably be passed on to my sister (lucky her!).

What we wore today! We had some fun with our photo shoot this sunny Thursday, still a bit camera shy but we like sharing our  bargains with you. I am going back to my parents this weekend, but I know that Maria has a weekend of chazzer shopping and vintage market browsing to look forward to! I can't wait to see her bargains!

..... clothes that make me smile

So to continue our challenge, this is what I wore yesterday! I love this dress but it is  falling apart, don't look too closely the hem is fraying at the neckline. But I love it, I found it last year with my sister at Battersea car boot, as well as a massive oversized hand knitted jumper. Maria has a lovely collection of vintage dresses and shoes, but my clothes wombling obsession is wooly jumpers, just can't get enough of them. I cannot wait till summer though as I have a few summer dresses waiting patiently for the sun!

The cats make me smile, I particularly like the fact they are wearing Bow ties!
